MET-301 Advanced Hands-On Metrology
This course introduces the student to advanced measurement concepts and math used in standards laboratories. The student will learn how to make various types of measurements using different measurement methods. We will also teach techniques for making good high precision measurements using reference standards. A class project will teach the student how to collect and analyze data from a series of measurements to determine the device's value, and the uncertainty associated with it. The student will be competent to make measurements in a standards lab after he/she passes the final exam.
Prerequisites: It is recommended that attendees of this course have a minimum of two years experience in an electrical calibration laboratory.
