ISO 9000: traceable calibration
'Calibration' means that the test results from a measuring device (or source) of unknown accuracy, are compared with a device whose accuracy is known. This device is universally accepted as a 'reference' and traceable to international standards. Calibration records any deviation from this standard and corrects it when necessary. Each instrument has a specific calibration procedure which indicates exactly how and what must be checked.
Regular and traceable calibration combines the forces of accuracy and certainty and provides you with the key aspect of ISO 9000 registration. Contact your nearest Fluke Service Center for more information on these services. |

Standard price services
- One-Time repair or cal at a fixed price
- Added support for your own maintenance program
- Take advantage of Fluke's expertise and resources on an as-needed basis
These cost-effective services can be used to repair or calibrate your Fluke equipment on a one-time basis. For customers who routinely service their own instruments, this service offers an easy way to smooth out your peak work loads. For others, it's an easy and economical way to take advantage of Fluke's extensive service capabilities.
The Standard Price Service Program sets a fixed charge for calibration and/or repair for each type of instrument. The calibration and/or repair price includes all labor and most materials required.
These standard prices, which are based on historical time and material averages, help you determine service costs in advance. They also eliminate potentially critical delays caused by quotation and approval procedures. Of course, some units may fall outside the scope of the program because of age, abuse or misuse. In such cases you will be advised and, only with your approval, charged on the basis of the actual labor and parts required. Evaluation fees may be applied.

Repair
Each Fluke Service Center is equipped with the necessary instruments, standards, procedures, and personnel to maintain Fluke products at peak performance. Proper use of measurement standards are carefully and continually monitored through a corporate controlled audit program.
Fluke's Customer Support Services group is dedicated to a single goal: provide the best possible service for both our products and our customers. Therefore we have several ways to repair a product:
- Repair with Flat Rate
- Priority Service next on bench
- Repair by Replacement
Flat rate repair
Repair price is at a Flat Rate cost. It covers parts, labor, and calibration or performance tests necessary to repair the instrument and have it operate within published specifications. It also includes any factory-authorized modifications to bring it up to current standards. Repairs requiring replacement of cathode ray tubes, rechargeable battery packs, or mechanical and electromechanical parts are also excluded. Any excluded parts required to make the repair will be billed at the current published price. Prices do not include unrelated multiple assembly failures, workmanship related problems, accessories or evidence of abuse or overload.
Priority service
Next on bench service is available for a nominal fee. Contact us at 1-888-99-FLUKE (1-888-993-5853) or mailto:service@fluke.com.com for pricing and availability.
Repair by replacement (RBR)
Some Fluke products are classified as Repair by Replacement, in which case a replacement unit will be offered at a reduced price. If your unit is replaced instead of repaired, calibration costs may be additional.
Calibration
Flat rate calibration
Calibration price is at a Flat Rate cost and covers all labor and equipment to perform one calibration required to meet the published factory specifications. The calibration is provided by Fluke, an ISO-9001 registered company, using standards and instruments traceable to national standards. This includes at a minimum, a Certificate of Calibration, a calibration label with the date of calibration and next calibration date. A tamper-proof calibration seal is also affixed to the instrument.
Calibration product offerings (U.S. only)
Performance test: After a repair a performance test is carried out to validate that the instrument is fully functional. No cal certificate or associated material is provided
Traceable calibration: The instrument is calibrated to manufacturer's specifications using test equipment traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other recognized standards or standards laboratories. It is returned with a Certificate of Calibration, Cal sticker, and seals. This calibration meets the requirements of ISO9000.
Z540-1 traceable calibration - w/o data: The instrument is calibrated to manufacturer's specifications using test equipment traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other recognized standards laboratories. It is processed in accordance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 1994*, and returned with a Z540-1 compliant "Certificate of Calibration". Cal stickers and seals are included.
Z540-1 traceable calibration - with data: The instrument is calibrated to manufacturer's specifications using test equipment traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other recognized standards laboratories. It is processed in accordance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 1994*, and returned with a "Report of Calibration" with "as found" and "as left" readings including test uncertainties. Cal stickers and seals are included.
Accredited calibration: This calibration is done under the guidelines of a national accrediting organization to the ANSI/ISO 17025 – 1999 standard and will be delivered with documentation according to the accrediting body.
